Shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto has made great achievements not only in the classical music but also in contemporary activities. This is the third in a series of compilations of his original compositions. A1 features the Koto ensemble of the Miyagi Ensemble (14 players) and the Shakuhachi quintet of Shakuhachi 1979; A2 features a duet with the Koto by Tomoko Sunasaki; A3 features an ensemble by the Miyakoyama School's Hozan-kai (10 shakuhachi players); B2 features a solo shakuhachi performance by Taizan Kawamura; A3 features a composition by own Shakuhachi Ensemble. The composition of A3, "Take No Shirabe" is wonderfully in tune with the minimalist style of Steve Reich.
