An album released in 1988 by John Abercrombie, a representative guitarist of ECM, who has left many masterpieces. This is a brilliant jazz-rock/crossover work featuring Marc Johnson (b), Peter Erskine (d), and guest Michael Breaker (ts). John Abercrombie's electric guitar, as always, soars and churns, but thanks to the skill of the participating members, a very lustrous and beautiful atmosphere permeates throughout. Furthermore, this album incorporates a guitar synthesizer, resulting in a superb new-age jazz work with a mellow and clear band sound that rivals Pat Metheny. The soaring feeling of A3/B1, in particular, is irresistible.
