This album by shakuhachi player John "Kaizan" Neptune was released in 1982 from the series "76/45" by the DAM Promotion Committee, which introduced the latest analog manufacturing technologies of the 1980s, such as 76cm/2 tracks, 45rpm cutting with quartz rock D.D. motors and diamond cutter needles, and heavy discs. Percussionist Sumire Yoshihara, bassist Kunimitsu Inaba, John Quartet, John Brass Band, and John East Band participated in each song. The album is a masterpiece of high quality sound with wonderful performances that sublimate the styles of ethnic music, contemporary music, and jazz, such as A1, where the intense sound of percussion blows spreads over a wide dynamic range, and B2, an ethnic jazz piece that plays a gentle groove with tabla and sitar. The dynamic range is very wide.
A1: Explore (探究)
B2: East of Everywhere
