The first album by Jungle Group, a Russian group led by guitarist Andrei Otryaskin and bassist Igor Tikhomirov, was released in 1989. The Soviet Union was not allowed to officially import American or European music, but the end of the 80's was also the time, and the group performed a long, bright electronic fusion piece that made full use of synthesizers, drum machines, and computers, while also incorporating elements of Pat Metheny followers. Sometimes the music takes an abstract turn. The thin line sound peculiar to the communist bloc is conversely a good taste, which is an interesting point of Russian music.
