An album released in 1965 by Kenny Burrell, an American guitarist who left numerous works on top jazz labels in America, ranging from Blue Note to Prestige, Verve, CTI, and Muse. Known for his work with various jazz orchestras, Gil Evans handled the arrangements and conducted. The album includes one guitar solo by Burrell, three tracks featuring a rhythm section composed of Roger Kellaway (piano), Joe Benjamin (bass), Grady Tate (drums), and Willie Rodriguez (percussion), and five tracks performed by a jazz orchestra with a total of 17 musicians including Lee Konitz (alto sax), Steve Lacy (soprano sax), Jurius Watkins (French horn), Ron Carter (bass), Elvin Jones (drums), among others. Evans' outstanding arrangements, highlighting Burrell's gypsy-like guitar playing, shine brightly on this masterpiece. This is a reissue of the album originally released in 1985 as part of Polydor's "Verve Just Jazz Series."
