Manuaku Waku, a guitarist from Kinshasa in the Republic of Congo and a member of the conglomerate Langa Langa, released this album in 1980 with his group Grand Zayko Waka. This is probably Manuak Waku's first solo album, and although it shares the same basic structure and development as the soukous that flourished in the 1980s, it has a very different feel, with its four-beat bass drum, shuffling rhythm section, distorted psychedelic electric guitar and trippy synthesizer sounds. It creates a different atmosphere. It's a masterpiece with a very unique character.
