Released in 1979, the first album by the Israeli traditional music group Natural Gathering features a wide array of ethnic instruments, including congas, bongos, tablas, sitar, double bass, gut guitar, violin, and jumbush, creating an unplugged sound that blends Jewish, Arab, Indian, and other diverse folk music into a modern, spiritual, and nostalgic world. While the melodies are distinctly Arab, the mix of various elements generates a unique groove that also resonates with the avant-garde folk music collective Ossian from Poland. Despite its less-than-good condition, this album is thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
