This is the best album of the Greek composer/singer/poet Nikos Xylouris, who passed away in 1980 at the age of 44, released in 1974. The album features the traditional music of his hometown in Anogeira, the southernmost island of Greece, as well as the music of Kostas Kindynis, Stavros Xarhakos, Yannis Kakoulidis, Christodoulos Chalaris, Vasilis Andreopoulos, Giorgos Zervoulakis, and others. This is Greek Neo-Trad music with a new score by Greek composers such as Giorgos Zervoulakos, Christodoulos Chalaris, Vasilis Andreopoulos and Giorgos Zervoulakos, sublimated with emotional performances and singing with a unique texture. The songs with a 70's rock feel are also noteworthy, such as A2 and A3, which feature a psychedelic orientation with primitive percussion, fuzzed electric guitar and fat bass. (Chee)
