This album was released in 1983 by Australian improviser Ros Bandt and her group LIME, who have also demonstrated their talents as musicologists, acoustic sculptors, and instrument designers. Side A, titled "Ocean Bells," is a tape-edited performance of hula gongs, creative instruments made from discarded glass bottles and jars hanging from wooden frames, and features meditative sounds of soft overtones in a tranquil space. B1, "Shifts," is a minimalist rhythm with 15 gamelan gongs that gently unfolds. B2, "Annapurna," is a deep ensemble of tape-edited voices, temple bells, and gamelan gongs. The performance is excellent throughout. Highly recommended.
