Mackey Feary, a singer/songwriter/guitarist at the pinnacle of Hawaiian mellow groove, who has left behind a number of quality albums including "From The Heart", which was featured in the first edition of the guidebook "obdcure sound", was a member of the group Kalapana. This compilation album, released in 1982, is an original Japanese compilation album containing classic songs from the Kalapana era. From uplifting rock to mellow grooves, the songs on this album are mainly from albums "Kalapana" and "Kalapana II". Whenever I hear Feary's voice, I always find it to have a special charm.
