This album was originally recorded in 1960 by Bernard Heidsieck, a French poet who had been working in the style of sound poetry and action poetry since the mid-1950s, and released in 1996 in analog form by the Italian experimental music label Alga Marghen. It is one of a series of "Poeme-Partition" works started in 1955, which, as the title suggests, practices spoken poetry by dividing letters and words. The idea of using tape recorders to compose music and to capture the sound of short word sequences was so innovative that it is hard to believe that it was done 60 years ago, and it is a method that predates today's sampling and cut-and-paste. The artwork is also excellent.
