John Surman, a British saxophonist who has played with many jazz musicians including John McLaughlin, Alan Skidmore, Michel Portal and many others. The album was recorded with a British pianist Stan Tracy, and released in 1978. The duo's improvisation-based work on saxophone/clarinet and acoustic piano has a relaxed, easy-going feel, but it's their use of synthesizers that really shines. The pure arpeggiated sound is a foreshadowing of John Surman's later masterpieces.
