This album, released in 1978, was recorded by a trio of musicians who were not easy to work with: Toshinori Kondo, a leading Japanese improvised trumpeter who sadly passed away recently; Henri Kaiser, an American guitarist; and John Oswald, an American saxophonist. The album is a completely free improvised work consisting of seven to eleven takes and guitar solos, all improvised and recorded live, and all titles are alphabetized to indicate the take, but there is no sense of a separate piece. Needless to say, this is free music at its finest, where each individual's spontaneity, intuitive ideas, and physicality intersect. Toshinori Kondo's trumpet is like a scratch. There is no other music where words are so meaningless. It is the best.
