A masterpiece album released in 1977 by the Argentine percussionist Martin Saint Pierre, who manipulates various ethnic percussion instruments from Central and South America, Africa, India, and other countries, creating music fused with jazz elements. The album was released by the prestigious French world music label Le Chant Du Monde. Side A features solo performances on the bendir, a frame drum used in rituals in North African countries such as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. Side B features solo performances on the bongos. Both sides showcase the expressive sounds of the bendir and bongos, floating like natural sounds of wind and earth rhythms in a resonant space filled with spiritual air. The album exudes an experimental yet ethnic vibe. Highly recommended.
