Split album released in 1991 on the German contemporary/electronic music label Edition RZ, run by Robert Zank, who has released numerous experimental works by John Cage, David Tuder, Iannis Xenakis and many others. "Music for Living Process", released in 1973, by Toshi Ichiyanagi, a leading figure in minimal music who was one of the earliest in Japan to come into contact with the music of John Cage, introduced his theories into his own compositional methods and introduced Cage and other American avant-garde music to Japan in the early 60s, and "Cho-Etsu", released in 1973 by Ishii Maki, who emerged as an up-and-coming composer in the contemporary music world in the early 70s, was released in the same year. Both make full use of shakuhachi and other Japanese instruments, and are wonderful sublimations of the new dimension of Japanese classical music that he pioneered with Takemitsu Toru and others. The slow and pause is exquisite. Deadstock now in stock.
As this is an unused archive copy, it will be delivered as is. There is light wear to some of the surface of the sleeve due to age and deterioration.
