This is the second edition of Paolo Barotto's guidebook to Italian pop music, Il Ritorno Del Pop Italiano, published in 1998. This is a very rich book of Italian music released from the early 1960s to 1998, including discographies and interviews with each artist. The book contains not only Italian discs, but also information on discs released in other countries, with an unusually large number of Japanese discs. It's interesting to note that there are an unusually large number of Japanese discs in the book. Although there is far more textual information than cover art, it's a great way to explore Italian rock.
