This 1987 album by Sarajane, a singer/songwriter from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She debuted in 1986 and sold 600,000 copies and went double platinum the following year when it was used in a TV show. The percussionist Carlinhos Brown, a percussionist prodigy in Bahia who has also done some excellent collaborations with Laswell, is featured on this album. The title and cover photo give the album a traditional feel, but the content is very pop, ranging from light samba-pop with traditional Bahian rhythms to Italo-like pop like A2, with its square machine beat and cheap sounding digital synthesizers. The album features melancholic sounds of electric piano and rhythm machines such as Linn Drum and Roland TR-707. The mellow breeze '80s disco A4 is also niche.
