A four-LP album released in 1979 by the American composer/minimalist Philip Glass, hailing from Baltimore. This collaboration with the painter Robert Wilson, who also created the cover art for David Byrne's only ECM work, "Music for the Knee Plays," is an opera piece based on the 20th century's greatest theoretical physicist, Albert Einstein, known for his theory of relativity. It's a magnificent suite of compositions characterized by minimal refrains layered with woodwinds, vocals, and synthesizers, depicting a story-rich narrative. The immersive experience it offers is unparalleled, making it highly recommended and thoroughly captivating.
