This 1981 album by Tangerine Dream, an iconic electronic progressive rock group consisting of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, and Johannes Schmoelling, is the original soundtrack for Michael Mann's directorial debut film Thief. The album features the brilliant sound and futuristic vision typical of Tangerine Dream during this period, including a thrilling track on side A2 that recalls the Düsseldorf sound epitomized by Neu! and La Düsseldorf, and a hard-edged track on side B3 characterized by sharp synthesizers and guitars.
A2: Dr. Destructo
B3: Igneos
