This album was released in 1978 from the <Documenti originali della musica etnica del mondo> series, a series of about 30 titles released by the Italian label Albatros. It's featuring folk music in Dominica republic. The first side is a primitive folk music palo with various percussions that was brought from Africa. On the B-side, we have Merengue, which was created by using instruments such as the accordion that were influenced by Western culture. This is a nice piece that allows you to enjoy the history of Dominican music on one disc.
