This is the third collection of works released in 1975 by Miyashita Shuretsu, a Japanese koto player who contributed to the development of Japanese traditional music and was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1975 and the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fourth Class, in 1982, and also devoted himself to the development and popularization of the 30-string koto. Miyashita's sons, koto players Shin Miyashita and Tazuko Miyashita, and shakuhachi players Hozan Shimabara and Shizan Ikeda participate in this collection. Included are four pieces: "Shikumo no Shiki," "Ichigoe Shiki Celebration," "Dance piece with Arirang," and "Solo piece for 17-stringed instrument. You can hear boldly practiced new attempts such as the arrangement of chromatic scale, the introduction of atonal tones, the combination of Shintoism and Buddhism, and the creation of Korean folk songs mainly based on the three beats. The final piece, "Solo for 17 Strings," is particularly avant-garde in its orientation.
