sleeve : EX(slightly wear on some parts of edge, light collapse on one corner,)

Released in 1982 by Arion, a label specialising in world folk music, this album features the traditional music of the Burundi Kingdom, east of Zaire and west of Tanzania. The album includes the mysterious A1, with its whispered chants accompanied by a giant thumb piano called Inanga, and B5, an intense percussion ensemble of 25 drummers, reconstructed in 1981 by British new wave artists Mike Steiphenson and Rusty Egan. Full-bodied, primitive performance with spiritual chants throughout.
