This album was released in 1975 as the second part of the "The World of Music" series on the excellent Swedish label Caprice. The album is a collection of folk music from Tunisia in North Africa and features performances by composer/musicologist Salah El Mahdi, who has also contributed to the transmission of Islamic history and culture, Ali Werda, Ali Bogherra, Zakia Lakhdar, Abdel Aziz Ben Mahmoud and others who have passed on the music of the Kerkenna Islands.
