This album was released in 1975 as the second part of the "The World of Music" series on the excellent Swedish label Caprice. The album is a collection of folk music from Tunisia in North Africa and features performances by composer/musicologist Salah El Mahdi, who has also contributed to the transmission of Islamic history and culture, Ali Werda, Ali Bogherra, Zakia Lakhdar, Abdel Aziz Ben Mahmoud and others who have passed on the music of the Kerkenna Islands. This is a work of great historical value, in which you can enjoy the sound of the stringed instrument known as the tar, and the folk instruments such as the darbukka, the oud, the ney and the tabla, which are a mixture of the various cultures of the Islamic world.
