A 12-inch single released in 1987 by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who unfortunately passed away in March 2023. The single features contributions from Jeff Bova, Eddie Martine, Haruo Kubota, Barry Johnson, David Palmer, and others. The title track, A1, is a YMO-era composition from the album "Solid State Survivor," released in 1979. It utilizes lyrics that Michael Jackson added while working on the production of his album "Thriller" for a cover of the same song. B1 is a track from Sakamoto's 1987 album "Neo Geo," a collaboration with Iggy Pop and Bill Laswell. B2 is a collaboration with Thomas Dolby, released in 1985. All tracks are new recordings with fresh arrangements.
