This album was released in 1975 by Charles McPherson, an American saxophonist who worked with Charles Mingus, Barry Harris, and Pepper Adams, and who himself has recorded many leader albums since the 1960's. The album is dedicated to Billie Holiday, one of America's most famous jazz singers who passed away in 1959, and features a quintet with Sam Jones (b), Earl Dunber (g), Leroy Williams (ds), Barry Harris (p), and a string orchestra. He performs Holiday's classic songs in a moody and elegant manner. This is the Japanese pressng with a different cover from the US pressing.
