The Quartet, led by vibraphonist Gary Burton, released this ECM in 1982, featuring Jim Odgren (as), Steve Swallow (b) and Mike Hyman (d). The album features covers of Micael Gibbs, Chick Corea, Carla Bley and Charles Mingus, as well as original compositions by Jim Odgren. Gary Burton's lilting vibes and the backing band breathe perfectly, and the straight-ahead performance is instantly captivating.
