An album released in 1972 by German multi-instrumentalist Gunter Hampel on his own label, Birth Records. Active since the early 1950s, Hampel left his mark on labels like ESP Disk in the 1960s and participated in the European activities of Cecil Taylor and the Art Ensemble of Chicago as a member. This album is one of the twelve releases in the Jubilee Edition: 15 Years Gunter Hampel Group (1958–1973) – Jubilaumsausgabe series. Recorded in New York, the album features Gunter Hampel and his Galaxie Dream Band, a nine-member ensemble including Jeanne Lee (vocals), Perry Robinson (clarinet), Mark Whitecage (alto clarinet), and Allan Praskin (alto saxophone), among others. Opening with Lee’s magical vocalizations, the music gradually unfolds into a thrilling journey of free-form improvisation, drawing the listener into its mesmerizing flow.
