This is a 1988 album featuring a collaboration between the saxophone group Kolner Saxophone Mania, the percussion group Drummele Maa led by Christoph Haberer (who has featured various works in the guidebook Obscure Sound), and the African percussion group Elima Percussion de Zaire from Zaire. Tracks include the spiritually infused A1, with intensely blowing saxophones over powerful, pulsing percussion, and A3, where earthy percussion and African chants reverberate as if shaking the very ground. The entire album captures a blend of primal African music and intense improvisation, resonant with artists like Don Cherry and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, delivering a unique take on ethnic jazz.
