"The third leader album released in 1979 by Italian jazz bassist Marcello Melis, known for his contributions to the free jazz scene, including collaborations with artists like Steve Lacy, Enrico Rava, and Mario Schiano. This particular album was recorded in New York with a roster of notable musicians such as Lester Bowie, Don Moye, Don Pullen, Enrico Rava, Nana Vasconcelos, and others. The music explores chaotic and free improvisation, delivering an electrifying sound. A highlight of the album is the nearly 17-minute long-scale improvisation that unfolds across the entire Side B. Notably, the primitive percussion play of Nana Vasconcelos and Don Moye enhances the ethnic and tribal emotions in this section. The vocal performances by Sheila Jordan and Jeanne Lee are also noteworthy and worth a listen.
