This is a duo album released in 1983, featuring Marion Brown, an American jazz saxophonist who was active at the forefront from the 1960s to 2000, and Gunter Hampel, a German multi-instrumentalist who has recorded works for ESP Disk and other labels, and was a member of Cecil Taylor and Art Ensemble of Chicago in their European activities. The two have performed together many times since 1960, including live recordings of "Gesprachsfetzen" in Munich and "in Sommerhausen" in Würzburg, and this entire album is also masterpiece of supreme interplay between the two. Recorded at Tonstudio Bauer, a well-known venue for ECM productions, and engineered by Martin Wieland, the sound is all good. Highly recommended.
