Leader album released in 1967 by American saxophonist Marion Brown, who remained at the forefront from the 1960s to 2000, and who also left masterpieces on early ECM. Features Grachan Moncur III, Dave Burrell, Stanley Cowell, Beaver Harris, Bobby Capp and Norris Joens. Archie Shepp is pictured on the artwork but does not play on the album, but contributes to the three B-side tracks. A2, a deep tune with a floating groove and shaded atmosphere, and B2, a wonderful cross between Cowell's piano and Mopncur III's trombone, are two of the coolest and best performances with a unique coolness hidden in the radical approach. Highly recommended. Original US pressing.

A1: New Blue
A2: Fortunato
B2: West India
