A masterpiece album released on ESP-Disk' in 1965 by drummer Milford Graves, one of the pioneers who worked alongside Paul Bley and Albert Ayler during the dawn of free jazz in 1960s New York. This percussion duo work features American drummer Sunny Morgan, who, despite his work with Leon Thomas's group and collaborations with Graves on Montego Joe's album, quietly passed away in 1976. The album presents a superb ensemble where the dynamism created by the interplay of their breaths and released energy is beautifully harmonized. While Graves also released a powerful percussion duo album with Andrew Cyrille in 1974, it is astonishing to realize that his innovative musicality had already bloomed nine years earlier with this work. Highly recommended. This is a reissue released in 1978 as part of the "ESP Jazz Masterpiece Collection" series by Nippon Phonogram.
