Monika Linges Quartet
Floating
Nabel (Germany) 1992
4507 (LP) Remastered. Heavy vinyl.
sleeve : EX(one light wrinkle.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noises.)

This is the debut album by German jazz singer Monika Linges, released in 1982. She left behind only two albums during the 1980s. Joined by a quartet featuring Dennis Luxion (p), known for his collaborations with the Chet Baker Quartet, as well as Michael Schoneich (b) and Gerd Breuer (dr), both of whom have been involved in releases from the Nabel label, Linges delivers a range of floating, mellow jazz vocals throughout the album—true to its title. From upbeat scat jazz to atmospheric slow jazz and sophisticated urban bossa jazz, this is a standout release. This particular version is a high-quality, heavyweight remastered edition released in 1992.

A1: Too Fond of Samba
B3: Prayer for the Newborn
