This is the sixth installment in the ECM Special artist compilation series, a unique project by Trio Records, which had been producing the Japanese editions of ECM Records since the mid-1970s. The album features six tracks by artists who represent the label, such as Ralph Towner and Glen Moore, Dave Holland, Steve Swallow, Barre Phillips, Arild Andersen, Eberhard Weber, and Gary Peacock. Highlights include Andersen's 1977 organic ethno-jazz classic "Wood Song" from Shimri and Weber's floating jazz piece "Moana II" from his 1977 album The Following Morning. Barre Phillips' track on side A, number four, is also exceptional.
B1: Arild Aandersen “Wood Song”
B2: Eberhard Weber “Moana II”
