This is the first solo album released in 1984 by Jun Togawa, who gained popularity for his various approaches to music, including Guernica with Koji Ueno and Hotaruichi Ota, and his own group Yapoos, as well as for his acting. It was released on Yen Records, a label headed by Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi. The album features the title track B1, composed by Haruomi Hosono, which was also cut as a single, as well as electronic sounds utilizing synthesizers and drum machines created by arrangers Yoshifumi Iio and Yoshihiro Kunimoto, and a post-punkish sound that brings Togawa's unique character to the fore. Although the direction may be different, Togawa and Phew are symbolic artists of this era.
