American female composer and performance artist Laurie Anderson has been active since the mid-1970s and on a number of contemporary and avant-garde projects. She has recently collaborated with the Kronos Quartet, a group of musicians known for their work with Steve Reich. This is the original soundtrack to a film documenting the performance at the Park Theatre in Union City, New Jersey in 1985. The music is full of electronics and live instrumentation, with a spirit of experimentation that sublimates video and performance in an artistic way, but the great thing about her is that she makes it work as a pop song.
