Ethel Azama, a Japanese American singer from Hawaii, released this album in 1959. Although Azama gained popularity as a singer of jazz and popular music, this album was produced by Martin Denny, a master of exotica, and sublimates standard numbers and Hawaiian music into a tropical and exotic sound that is very pleasant. What makes this album unique is the singer's voice. A1, a cover of the famous hit song "Ringo Oiwake" sung by Hibari Misora in 1952, is especially noteworthy. Original U.S. pressing.
