This is the original soundtrack album for the documentary film "Elephant Tales," which was released in 1980 and follows the lives of wild animals living in the African savanna. Composer Makoto Kawaguchi composed the music, and two of the theme songs were written by Ryudo Uzaki and Yoshiaki Agi and sung by Naomi Chiaki. One of the songs, "African Night," is a groovy boogie disco tune performed by the rock band Shogun, and has a great exotic African feel to it. The slow groove on B3 is also excellent. This is a very rare case among Naomi Chiaaki's works. A 7" single with the theme song also exists, but CBS/Sony has replaced the vocalist with Jun Mayuzumi instead of Naomi Chiaaki due to an unintelligible decision by CBS/Sony. A theatrical pamphlet is included.
