This album, released in 1982 by the group Air, consists of three players from the Chicago AACM: Henry Threadgill, Fred Hopkins, and Steve McCall. They have collaborated with many free jazz musicians, including David Murray, Don Pullen, and Andrew Cyrille. The album features McCall's aggressive trap drumming, Hopkins' meandering bass, and Threadgill's blowing alto saxophone. The previously prominent free elements have slightly receded, showcasing avant-garde jazz with consistent groove throughout. This album exudes the avant-garde spirit of the Chicago AACM.
