An album released in 1971 by Anthony Braxton, a musician from the avant-garde arts organization AACM in Chicago, who has created over 100 works and played various reed instruments since the 1960s. This album is a solo performance entirely on alto saxophone, with each piece dedicated to beloved artists and musician friends such as John Cage, Cecil Taylor, Leroy Jenkins, and Jack Gell. While Braxton's hallmark is the existence of precise scores for all his compositions, even when performing fierce improvisations, tracks like B1, which progresses with a very quiet tone and seems to incorporate even the breath into the composition, and C1, which weaves an emotional melody with nuanced expression, are particularly outstanding. This is believed to be a US pressing released in the 1980s.
