This album was released by the American pianist Bud Powell in 1952 on Blue Note, and he was highly regarded as one of the pioneers of bebop. While the compositions vary from track to track, it features performances by Fats Navarro (trumpet), Max Roach (drums), Curly Russell (bass), Sonny Rollins (tenor saxophone), Roy Haynes (drums), and Tommy Potter (bass). They perform in trio and quartet settings, and the album also includes two piano solos by Powell. The Latin-infused numbers A1/B1, with their percussive beats, are recommended, but the modern piano solos are also noteworthy. This is a Japanese reissue in 1991 from Toshiba EMI's "Blue Note Original 5000 Series Collection, Modern Jazz Series."
A1: Un Poco Loco
B1: a Night in Tunisia
