This is the 1987 solo album by drummer Danny Gottlieb, who faithfully carries on the Pat Metheny sound through his participation in the golden era of the Pat Metheny Group and in the unit Elements with bassist Mark Egan, who was also a groupmate. Supported by a distinguished lineup including Mark Egan (bass), John Abercrombie (guitar), Doug Hall (keys), Bill Evans (sax), Steve Khan (guitar), and Café (percussion), the album features tracks like A3, where the percussion, reminiscent of Nana Vasconcelos, and the endlessly breezy arrangement create an irresistibly pleasant vibe. On track B5, Mark Egan's electric bass and keyboards take the lead, crafting an ecstatic soundscape. Throughout, this masterpiece delivers superb splash crossover jazz that doesn’t disappoint.
A3: The Aviary
B5: Peace of Mind
