French saxophonist Doudou Gouirand, who also participated in Okay Temiz's Oriental Wind masterpiece Zikir released in 1979, recorded this 1983 album featuring Don Cherry, whom he connected with during his time in Sweden. This album offers refined ethnic jazz at its finest, including highlights like track A1, with its superbly atmospheric and urban sound, and track B1, an organic urban jazz piece scored by Don Cherry. Cherry’s trumpet is truly remarkable, showcasing a wide range of expressions, from bird calls to elephant-like tones, adding a deeply expressive layer to the music.
