This is a double album by American saxophonist Gary Bartz, who was active as a sideman for Max Roach, Art Blakey, and McCoy Tyner in the 60's, and in Miles Davis' group in the 70's, and who continued to play with the changing times from bop to fusion. Released in 1973, this album was recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in July of the same year with a quartet that included Hubert Eaves (p), Stafford James (b), and Howard King (ds). This is a great album with a totally wonderful live performance of crossover jazz that incorporates funk, soul, R&B, and Afro music in a big way. All songs are highly recommended. Original US Vinyl.
