An album released in 1979 by the American trumpeter Hannibal Marvin Peterson, who carries on the legacy of John Coltrane's spirit. Produced by Yoshio Ozawa, known for his work on numerous unique Japanese projects, the album features recordings made in 1979 at Media Studio in Tokyo. The quintet includes Michael Cochrane (piano), Diedre Murray (cello), Errol Walters (bass), and Makaya Ntshoko (drums).
The album opens with A1, unfolding from an organic soundscape into a groovy spiritual jazz. A2 covers a John Coltrane classic on a grand scale. Additionally, there are covers of New Orleans jazz and Thelonious Monk, expressing a true tribute to Hannibal's musical and spiritual roots. Highly recommended.
