This is a solo album released in 1987 by composer, singer, and pianist Ichiko Hashimoto, an original member of the legendary unit Colored Music, which left behind only one album in 1981 and has garnered worldwide attention through renewed recognition. In addition to her numerous masterpieces as a solo artist, she continues to be active today. The album features support from Atsuo Fujimoto of Colored Music, along with Toru Odajima, Kosuke Sakai, and others. It is a Japanese bossa jazz classic with sophisticated arrangements of iconic songs, including the famous bossa nova masterpiece by A.C. Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, as well as works by Cole Porter, Buddy Bernier/Nat Simon, and Erik Satie. Hashimoto's soft and transparent vocals, as well as the backing performances and arrangements, are outstanding. A timeless and seasonless album that should be cherished—a highly recommended gem.
