This was introduced in the 1st. edition of the guidebook "obscure sound". An outstanding leader album by Swiss jazz saxophonist Jean-Luc Barbier, released in 1983, featuring a quartet of Christoph Baumann (piano), Hami Hammerli (b), and Guido Parini (dr). The album is a straight-ahead jazz album, ranging from modal to swing, but with an organic spirituality similar to that of Paroah Sanders' famous album "Thembi". There is a beautiful deep jazz track B2 with drums and acoustic piano lapping like waves and flute playing a nostalgic melody, and B3 with a light opening full of tropical flavor and earthy flute that develops into an exotic spiritual jazz track. Please take a listen to them.
B2: Valse Pour Titi
B3: One for Harkin
