An American pianist, Joe LoCascio, who began his career in the mid-1960s and participated in works by Henri Salvador, relocated to Houston in the late 1970s and performed with numerous jazz musicians including Freddie Hubbard, Dave Liebman, and Randy Brecker. This 1986 album, featuring Chet Baker, showcases his talent. The lineup includes Tom McClaren (bass), George Weimmer (drums, percussion), Alonzo Alonzo (percussion), and Terri Meason (vocals). The album offers a light and refreshing crossover/fusion sound with a touch of Latin flavor, and it's quite rare to hear Baker's trumpet in this kind of setting. The standout track is the Balearic-feeling title track A2, which prominently features synthesizers and comes highly recommended.
