Jukka Perko Quartet
Portrait by Heart
Andania (Finland) 1989
ANLP-3 (LP)
sleeve : NM-(very slightly wear on corner.)
media : EX/-VG+(some very slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds. the first part on B1 has some light click noises caused by very small scratch. the first part on B4 has some slightly click noises caused by very small pressing-error.)
This is the only album released by Finnish saxophonist Jukka Perko under the quartet name in 1989. It features Eerik Siikasaari (b), Kirmo Lintinen (p), and Marko Timonen (ds). Tracks like A1, with its soprano saxophone layering lyrical melodies over a rhythm section that ebbs and flows like waves, and A3, which delicately floats sounds while maintaining restrained dynamics, showcase a beautiful and delicate contemporary jazz with a cool, Nordic sensibility throughout the album. It's a wonderful piece reminiscent of the world portrayed in Mike Nock's acclaimed album "Ondas" released by ECM. There are a few instances of light surface noise due to minor scratches on B1 and a slight "pass" sound from a small pressing error at the beginning of B4, but otherwise, no problem.Jukka Perko QuartetPortrait by HeartAndania (Finland) 1989ANLP-3 (LP)sleeve : NM-(very slightly wear on corner.)media : EX/-VG+(some very slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds. the first part on B1 has some light click noises caused by very small scratch. the first part on B4 has some slightly click noises caused by very small pressing-error.)This is the only album released by Finnish saxophonist Jukka Perko under the quartet name in 1989.
