An album released in 1994 by American pianist Larry Willis, who has been active since the 1960s with Hugh Masekela's group and has participated in many sessions, including Jackie McLean's Blue Note works, Joe Henderson, and Robin Kenyatta. This leader album features a sextet with Curtis Fuller (tb), John Stubblefield (ts, ss), Tom Williams (tp), David Williams (b), and Ben Riley (ds). The album includes three covers of Herbie Hancock's famous songs and three original scores by Willis. It features a funky groove with restrained tension on A1 and sophisticated arrangements on B2. This excellent album offers consistently mature performances by seasoned musicians. It was released as a heavyweight record by AudioQuest, known for producing high-quality audiophile recordings with their unique technology.
